Lidó Rico

about me
A creator of a personal expressive language characterized by using his own body as a working tool.

“Serás testigo del tacto”, (You Will Witness the Touch) is the title of a series of pieces I created in 1988.

In it, my first resin hands began to question and expose the fragility and insignificance of humankind when faced with an overwhelming reality that shakes us at its will.

Nearly forty years later, the same questions still linger—restlessness and the need to understand underlie every gesture.

Throughout all these years, I have used my hands like a knocker, striking endlessly at doors reinforced with wood the color of mystery. And although it is difficult to know what lies beyond, perseverance occasionally causes the grain to crack and split, revealing to me that one must only believe in what can be touched…

Reflections on the Work

Sumérgete en la obra

There, illusions will grow in the form of a project; there, skin will become the voice of many—in that place where the miracle of the past lurks, making every gesture tremble.
