To mark the 1,200th anniversary of the city of Murcia, the sculptor from Yecla, Lidó Rico, is creating a monumental work: a 22-square-meter sculptural mural that will be installed in the Almudí Palace. This “three-dimensional tapestry” not only aims to celebrate the city’s history but also to leave a mark on the future, as it will include a time capsule with a message to be opened in one hundred years.

The project, promoted by the Murcia City Council, will be built collaboratively, with the involvement of historians, academics, and cultural figures who will contribute throughout its creative process.

Lidó Rico, in addition to being the author, will also serve as the coordinator of this collective work, which is set to become a lasting symbol for the city. The final location of the mural will be decided through a process open to the public.
